The spiritual objectives of this association is to win souls for the Lord

The Elderly

Our mission here is to:

  • Driving souls to Christ.
  • To urge them to look at him in this last turning point of their life on earth.
  • If possible, if possible, to have their nutritional need through donations, and all these days with dry leaves of Moringa, which they are supposed to take in infusion every morning.
  • To take time to the morale of those who are in the bitters and bitters than to have been abandoned here by their families.
  • To take time, to encourage the coordinator who is a young lady who is not sufficiently supported by the Catholic mission of who the Center depends, hence the sadness that is sometimes seen on the faces.

In 2019, as part of our monthly visits to the elderly, I made another visit to Bethanie Viacam. The number of inmates is still constant, i.e. 14 people (9 mothers and 5 dads).

Grande was our joy at the knowledge that a grandmother interned at the beginning of the year whom had been conducted under duress, coming from Douala, finally adapted to this centre and whose follow-up by prayer is still taking place with her.

Several newly internees were taken to Christ, after a follow-up interview of prayers for the various diseases that undermine them.

In the same year in June, we deplored the deaths of two boarders that had occurred as a result of long old men and our staff had fallen to 12 boarders, i.e. 8 mothers and 4 dads.

On July 20 and 27, 2019, we made prayer and exhortation visits to the elderly as part of our monthly visits. This time. And during that visit, we drove a dad from Glocome to CHRIST, and prayed for its total restoration. He was abandoned by his wife and 8 children, and grandfather of more than 40 grandchildren. His story is really very sad and very moving. And We kept them as usual for dried moringa.

In the start of the activities during the same period, a visit described as a special, responding to the complaint of some boarders who had expressed their envy, consisted of a hot water massage session (a massage session that excelled well for us who were present), followed by prayers and exhortations. That's really good for them.

We kept them prepared plums and cassavas, diapers, including broken nuts, which they liked a lot.

Unlike in June, we did not complain of any deaths this month. The number of students remains at 7 mothers and 4 dads, or 11 inmates.

The year 2019 was marked, as in previous years, of the death of a few boarders at the Centre for Humanitarian of the Elderly BETHANIE VIACAM. Some because they're full of life and crumbling under the weight of age, others because they're tired of disease.

The number of inmates at the beginning of the year was 19 (13 women and 6 men). Three deaths were reported in the meantime and one family returning home due to health reasons). Rendered at 26/12/20/2019, this number is now 15 boarders (4 dads and 11 moms).

The management of the Centre was taken over, following the death of the mother dean about 4 years ago by the Catholic diocese under the leadership of a priest. The latter undertook to secure the site on about 2 hectares in the riparian's violation, but was hampered in its momentum by a complaint to the court by the latter. The case is still pending in the courts.

The gifts and other gifts offered by the souls of goodwill, such as the Aimée Foundation, are more or less used for the nutrition, maintenance and other of the Centre.

However, we deplore the quality of the management of boarders both morally and emotionally, which is not always the one sought, and some complain about it. Without, however, displacing the supervisors, one can understand that all this is not an easy task, given that it is necessary to manage the moods and emotions of these old people, not always obvious. That is why we have decided to add to our commitment already made, to also support those who look after these elderly people every day by sharing with them moments of quality and refreshment while exchanging on the proper functioning of the Centre.
